WHAT TO EXPECT

During their time at LSDA, students will be trained in all aspects of acting, with particular emphasis on the skills required by the profession today.

Our courses aim to provide a solid foundation on which students can build their future careers as professional actors.

As the student body is small, the school is a unique environment in which to create a close working atmosphere which is built on mutual respect. If each student is going to develop to his or her potential then the creation of a safe space in which to take risks is essential.

We believe that you should be challenged significantly and critiqued honestly so that you can truly become the master of your craft. If you come to the training with an open mind, courageous attitude and steadfast discipline you will truly become a dynamic, inventive and skilled performer. You must come prepared to challenge and evaluate yourself and your beliefs to enable you to fully realise your creative potential.

At LSDA you will be treated as a professional and as such we expect you to behave as a professional in return. In the industry nothing less than total commitment will be tolerated. We believe that from your first day with us you must apply the professional standard of behaviour that will expected of you throughout your career. A class or rehearsal cannot begin successfully until there is 100% attendance. If one person is late the entire company is distracted. Students at the school are obliged, without exception, to attend all classes and rehearsals.

Our aim is to produce graduates who are their own managers with the ability to find and create work independently. Work will not find you but through hard work and self awareness you will success.
